On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, Joe will move up again to second on the All-Time Games Umpired List with 5,164 games. Bill Klemm is 1st on the list with 5,372 games umpired. Today’s Umpire we highlight Crew Chief Ted Barrett who is beginning his 21st year as a Major League Baseball Umpire and is umpiring his 3000th game tonight!
Some highlights of his career; he became a member of the Major League staff in 1999, was appointed crew chief for the 2013 season, worked AL Wild Card Games (2012-13, 15-16); Division Series (2000- 03, 06-07, 11, 14); the League Championship Series (2005, 08-10, 12-13, 15-16); the 2007, 2011 and 2014 World Series; the 2007 All-Star Game. He is the only umpire ever to work the plate for multiple perfect games (David Cone’s on July 18, 1999 and Matt Cain’s on June 13, 2012); Ted is tied for most no-hitters called as the plate umpire, with three. Personal notes; Reverend Doctor Ted Barrett resides in Arizona and is married with three children and recently completed his doctorate in theology.

Today we begin with Bruce Dreckman, who’s starting his 20th year as a Major League Baseball Umpire.
A few of his career highlights include; calling the final out at first base for Roy Halladay's no-hitter in Game One of the 2010 NLDS on October 6, 2010. And was behind the plate for Francisco Liriano's no-hitter in Chicago on May 3, 2011.
Personal notes; Bruce is married with three children and currently lives in Iowa.
