Dual-use "Railway Motorcycle is also a tool to in the repair and maintenance of train tracks
An ensemble of design students of the Lanzhou University of Technology in China is developing a concept motorbike that, in their opinion is a perfect solution for two different groups of people that whom you've never imagined connecting in the past commuters and railway workers. This isn't as insane as it may sound.
The creators were inspired by the idea by the idea of creating an electric motorcycle idea that is the most useful thing that is possible and not just a fashion or luxurious item that is cherished by people who live in cities. Let's dive deeper and examine the way this idea works and the way it ties both groups of individuals.
Railroad Motorcycle A motorcycle equipped with wings, specifically designed to fix rails
The only name that this concept has is "Railway Motorcycle" that's how it was described in the submission for the London International Creative Competition. The team's praise is that it was awarded an award at the competition. The primary idea that separates Railway Motorcycle apart from other designs is its wings.
On the other side of the bicycle, one could see a set of retractable "wings" created for the purpose of securing the bike to any standard railway track. This bike will be stable along the track, transporting employees to and away from wherever they must go safely and effectively.
Due to the growing popularity of subways and high-speed rail networks in China they were in awe of the need to come up with a solution for the suffering of maintenance personnel at these locations. These workers are often required to traverse the rails on feet, carrying heavy equipment that weigh a lot and frequently risky, as well as the fact that they are utterly inefficient.
Railway Motorcycle is designed to solve these issues, offering groups of workers an efficient and safe method of getting between tracks. It also illuminates the path for underground. Wings can be deployed and retract at any time making it possible for the motorcycle to switch between road and rail. Designers even employed the bright yellow and gray reflective colors for the bike to be easily visible during subway maintenance.
Innovative electric technology and robust construction
However, far from only being utilized in these kinds of industrial applications, Railway Motorcycle would also be available to the public directly who might appreciate the bicycle because of its style and design in addition to its utility for use as a city and commuter automobile.
The riders sit close to the rear wheel that is semi-covered by putting their feet in the feet rests in front of their backs and leaning forward in order to grab the handlebars in the air. It's an extremely athletic and race-like position which isn't like an cruising motorcycle like one like a Harley Davidson.
The designers say that the body would most likely be made from an aluminum-magnesium alloy, and would also feature vacuum-puncture-proof tires for added durability. The tires wouldn't have full protection like wheel rims, but particularly the front tire.
The primary powertrain is the centrally-mounted battery. It is likely one that is lithium-ion, however the specification isn't clear. On the other hand the driver could be equipped with a digital LED panel that would display the current status of the vehicle. Is it an enticing future electric motorbike idea? The only way to know is time.
