The Identity of The Serpent

Many have concluded The Serpent's identity as either Enki, Enlil, Satan, Lucifer, or Lilith. There are many correct answers, but rarely do we see any of them discussed among modern day theologians.

The Serpent's identity can be understood from various sources of ancient literature. Multiple mentions of a serpent and tree, conflated with the Sumerian Sky God An, make up the identity of The Serpent. The strongest piece of evidence comes from the Myth of Adapa. Here, Enki plays the role of God, while An is the serpent.
