Adam Pachkofsky, lifelong aviator, made his final flight west on Sa****ay, November 4, 2023.

Adam graduated from Arizona State University, with a degree in Aeronautical Science from the Polytechnic Campus within Fulton School of Engineering. After flight instructing, he began his career on the Saab 340 with Colgan Airlines. Later, Adam was a Captain on the E175 at Compass Airlines.

Adam joined Spirit Airlines in 2015 fulfilling a lifelong dream of flying with his older brother, LAS Capt, Ryan Pachkofsky Bloker.

While flying the line in September 2016, Adam started experiencing vision issues. Far from home, he went to Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. His family, colleagues and friends from throughout the industry made sure he was surrounded by support. Once back in Minnesota, Adam continued treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Adam recovered and enjoyed remission for many years. Unfortunately, he was unable to get back his medical to return to the cockpit. He found a new career and success — but he was always looking to the skies. For the next seven years, Adam traveled to every corner of the world with his wife Ashley and lived life to the fullest. To paraphrase his wife “there was no bucket list to check off at the end, it was already complete”.

Sadly, earlier this year, the tumor returned. Adam fought valiantly, but several courses of treatment were ultimately unsuccessful.

Adam taught many of us so many lessons on life. How to live, to appreciate the beauty in life everywhere around us— big and small. To seize every day as an opportunity and a gift. To never be bored or unappreciative of just how lucky we are. To never settle for less than you deserve. To never stop growing or self reflecting. To keep exploring, learning, and dreaming. In this lifetime, we have very little say in the way that we will eventually die. It is something that is shared by all of humanity. However, we do get to decide how we will live.

He didn't just think about what he wanted to do with his time here, he made it a reality. Every single day. Adam found joy, laughter and happiness in even the darkest of moments.

Adam mastered the art of living.

Adam is survived by his wife, Ashley; his brothers, Ryan and David, and his parents, Jenny Ann and David.

To honor Adam as a lifelong Aviator and proud ASU Sun Devil, we will be establishing a Scholarship Fund supporting the pursuit of education and a career in aviation for a future aviator.
