The Seven Hanging Valleys Trail and Ponta da Piedade are both excellent Algarve coast walks, but they suit different days. Choose Seven Hanging Valleys when you want a genuine half-day cliff hike with sustained walking, repeated climbs and exposed limestone scenery. Choose Ponta da Piedade when you want a shorter, easier scenic walk close to Lagos, with boardwalks, viewpoints and the option to combine it with beaches or a boat trip.

Reflection Canyon is not a casual roadside viewpoint. Reaching the famous overlook requires a long drive on an unpaved backcountry road, off-trail navigation across exposed desert terrain, and enough self-sufficiency to handle heat, wind, poor road conditions, and a delayed return. The reward is a remarkable view over a deeply curved arm of Lake Powell, but the trip only makes sense when road, weather, daylight, and personal navigation skills align.
