What was the Fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil?
In a Sumerian myth called Inanna and Enki, the goddess Inanna seeks what is called the Tablet of Destinies (MEs). The MEs are a collection of prehistoric sociological constructs and ideas that were only practiced by the elite (in heaven), and withheld from the lower classes. In the text mentioned, Inanna approaches Enki in Eridu(Eden), he is the keeper of the MEs. She gets Enki drunk and convinces him to gift them to her. He does so, but when his buzz wears off, he attempts to retrieve them but is unable to do so.
Inanna took the MEs back to her city, Uruk. This city had just established a new class of society called the Amelu and Ardu, aka Man. Inanna passed the MEs to Man, as Eve passed the apple to Adam, which resulted in the understanding of morality and immorality. Listed in the Inanna and Enki myth are about 60 different entries or articles contained within the Tablet of Destinies. #eatthefruit
