There is no magic, there is only logic.

In the most ancient pieces of literature there is no magic, there is no mysticism. The Gods are not immortal nor any different from normal humans. The thundering weapon of the gods at that time was a mace or club. When did everything become magical and so fantastical? All literature regarding creation and the origin of the gods that was recorded after 2000 BCE should be deemed allegorized. Hindu as well as various mythologies, Gnosticism, Christianity, etc, are nothing more than corrupted and allegorized versions of the original.

From Sanchoniothon's Generations text, a son of Thabion, who is labeled as the very first hierophant, is described as having erroneously recorded historical accounts and corrupting them while giving them new and magical meanings. Perhaps unable to fully understand the context, he was stated to have...

“allegorized and mixed up with the occurrences and accidents of nature and the world, and delivered to the priests and prophets, the superintendents of the mysteries: and they, perceiving the rage for these allegories increase, delivered them to their successors, and to foreigners.”

Not quoted here but included in the same text are the numerous deaths and deifications of popular deities such as El Elyon, Ouranos, El, and Hades. This single piece of literature acknowledges the rise of gods from mortal men, the origin and identity of the Elohim, and most importantly, the corruption of historical accounts and their allegorization. The result still affects us today as we ignore the original accounts and worship and attempt to give meaning to corrupted variations.
